About the route
This demanding circular road route takes you through almost the entire Split Hinterland and lets you discover nearly all of the destination's varied landscapes.
The route starts right next to the historic Klis Fortress, which offers a beautiful view of Split and its archipelago. The first section, from Klis via Muć up onto Svilaja, is also the hardest, as it climbs to almost 1,000 metres above sea level. From the pass on Svilaja there is a wonderful view of Dinara and the Cetina valley.
After the descent from Svilaja the route follows the Cetina across Sinjsko polje to Trilj. Those keen to explore can make short detours to the springs of the Ruda and the Grab, tributaries of the Cetina. After Trilj and Čaporice the route leads to Nečaj and crosses the Cetina, then returns to Klis via Dugopolje.

Tips and safety
Parts of the route run through rural areas with nowhere to buy drinks or food, so we suggest stopping to restock in the larger places (Hrvace, Trilj, Ugljane, Dugopolje…).
