Nutjak fortress

The strategic importance of Trilj did not end with antiquity, as the impressive remains of medieval fortifications show. A few kilometres downstream from Trilj, on a cliff above the Cetina, stands the imposing Nutjak fortress.

Nutjak dominates the landscape exactly where the Cetina turns into a winding canyon on its way to the Adriatic, offering a superb view over the dynamic landscape of this part of the Dalmatian interior. The fortress is only about a hundred metres from the 504 Nutjak trekking route.
