Tilurium
The remains of a large Roman military camp on the plateau above Trilj, which gave the town its name.
The name of Trilj comes from Tilurium, the Latin name of an important Roman military camp that stood above the Cetina, on a plateau near today's town. The large complex was the base of the Roman Seventh Legion, and parts of its walls are preserved and visible to this day.
