Dugopolje

A village in the south of the Split Hinterland, below Mosor, and a great base for exploring the whole region by bike.

Like Klis, Dugopolje lies in the south of the Split Hinterland – at its “start” for visitors arriving from the coast for a cycling adventure. Over the past twenty years or so it has grown into a major logistics and business hub for the whole of Dalmatia, which shows in how well kept and well equipped it is.

Thanks to its excellent position in relation to the rest of the Split Hinterland, Dugopolje is a great base for exploring the whole region by bike or for hiking up Mount Mosor, on whose northern slopes it sits.

Natural beauty is everywhere in this part of Dalmatia, and one of the greatest sights is the beautiful Vranjača Cave, a protected geomorphological natural monument in the central part of the Mosor massif, open to visitors.
