About the route
Physically more demanding, above all because of its length, this trekking route starts in Vid, in front of the Narona Archaeological Museum. After Metković it heads south along a well-kept path right beside the river.
Passing the historic town of Opuzen, the route approaches its goal – the mouth of the Neretva – after which it turns and returns to Vid along the right bank of the river, through the villages of Komin and Kula Norinska.
Along the route
Where Vid stands today was once the ancient city of Narona, a place of exceptional importance. The archaeological museum named after it is a must, not only for the wealth of its collection but because it is one of the few in Europe displayed in situ, on the authentic site of the temple complex of the former Roman city.
