About the route
Starting in the heart of Ludbreg, this pleasant flat route follows the varied and colourful landscape of the Bednja valley to the lovely village of Veliki Bukovec, where Drašković Castle is a must-see.
Unlike the longer trekking route, which loops round Ludbreg to the west, this one turns east along idyllic roads and tracks and returns to town after about thirty kilometres.
Along the route
Drašković Castle in Veliki Bukovec.
The Chapel of the Blessed Virgin Mary in Križančija, in fact the Drašković family's burial chapel, built in 1731.
The footbridge over the Bednja.
Batthyány Castle in Ludbreg, home to the Chapel of the Holy Cross with a permanent exhibition of valuable archive material (the Book of Miracles, the bull of Pope Leo X, conclusions of the Croatian Parliament…) and a permanent collection of sacred art.
