Concentric circles in the very centre of Ludbreg, symbol of the legend of Ludbreg as the centre of the world.
In the very centre of Ludbreg, on Trg Svetog Trojstva (Holy Trinity Square), are the concentric circles that symbolise the Centre of the World. Several legends raise Ludbreg to the central place on our planet, and it is up to you to decide which is the most interesting and convincing. According to one, Ludbreg lies at the centre of concentric circles linking many of the world's cities.
Every year, during the Centre of the World Day celebrations on 1 April, plaques of Ludbreg's twin and friendship towns are laid around the rim of the mosaic and flags are raised behind the fountain, from which, by a miraculous transformation, wine flows instead of water during the festivities. All the cycling routes pass this attraction.
