About the route
This circular town route is a healthy and fun way to get to know Ludbreg, and it is suitable for absolutely everyone. It takes in all of Ludbreg's attractions, can be ridden on any kind of bike and mostly follows quiet parts of town.
It is best to start in the very centre of town, but whichever direction you take, you will see Ludbreg's historic core and ride across Otok Mladosti, an island on a charming lake near the Bednja river and its weir, where you will surely want to take a good photo or two.
Alongside Ludbreg's natural sights there are, of course, its historic and cultural ones, above all the famous and popular Ludbreg shrine and the ethno house “Bakina hiža i Dedekov dvor” (Granny's House and Grandpa's Yard), with furniture, household items and house and garden tools from the days of our great-grandparents. After so many sights, we suggest a break in one of the local cafés or restaurants.
Along the route
Trg Svetog Trojstva (Holy Trinity Square) with its depiction of the “earthly circles” and the “Centre of the World” mosaic: legend has it that Ludbreg is the centre of the world, and this is the place to capture your visit.
Otok Mladosti on the lake by the Bednja river, and the crossing over the Bednja weir.
The Shrine of the Most Precious Blood of Christ and Batthyány Castle.
