Supetar

The only town and main port of the island of Brač, the starting point of all seven cycling routes.

Supetar is a town, a port and the centre of the island – the heart of Brač and the key to discovering all its hidden treasures. Today's Supetar grew up around the early Christian basilica of St Peter, from which it takes its name. For centuries it was merely the harbour of nearby Škrip, the oldest settlement on Brač, and only began to develop as a town in its own right in the 18th century – a town that 'moved from the hill to the sea'.
