The interior of Brač is full of well-preserved, authentic villages that grew up in harmony with nature. They have kept their old stone architecture, local culture and the odd historic or sacred treasure, but the most valuable thing you can experience is life as it once was, without interpretation or intermediaries. Nerežišća and the surrounding villages are an easy trip from Supetar, where the stone streets, a fine church and an unusual tree growing out of its roof let you truly feel the original spirit of the island.
