St Nicholas Church (Brela)
The Church of St Nicholas on Prirovac hill is an important medieval monument of high rank that tells much about the history of the area and how life here changed. It dates back to the 14th century, and some sources consider it even older. Either way, it is the oldest church in Brela; after turbulent times it was finally restored in 1988.
Below the church lie the ruins of houses and a settlement, showing that this part of Biokovo has been lived in at least since the Middle Ages. Because of the site's strategic position, there are also fortifications, such as the Turkish Tower south-east of the church.
