About the route
One of the favourite outdoor activities in the Varaždin region is the (regular) climb to this peak, modest in numbers but pretty fierce. You can start in Podevčevo or in Završje Podbelsko. Either way, a steep forest climb awaits you to this legendary summit with two viewpoints offering beautiful views of the Bednja valley.
The start in Završje is the more popular one: the races up Čevo start here, and with its gazebo and barbecues it makes a great resting spot. This route and its track start in Podevčevo.
The route is somewhat more demanding.
Along the route
Čevo, the easternmost peak of Ivanščica, nicknamed the Zagorje Klek for its pointed shape.
The Balkon viewpoint on the western side of the summit, overlooking the Bednja valley.

Tips and safety
The route is steep and the forest path can be slippery, so take extra care. Always carry enough water, some food and spare clothing, and make sure your mobile phone is fully charged so you can contact the emergency services if needed.
