Koprivnica

Koprivnica is the largest town and the seat of Koprivnica-Križevci County, and its social, economic and cultural centre. It lies on the beautiful Podravina plain, whose landscape and identity are shaped by the still unspoilt, almost wild and somewhat mysterious banks of the Drava river.

Its rich past has left Koprivnica a handsome, well-kept historic centre and a rich cultural and industrial heritage. On top of that, the town holds the record for the number of bicycles per head of population, which officially makes it the “town of bicycles”. There is even a stylised monument to the bicycle, that wonderful means of transport, in the very heart of town.
