Podravka Food Museum
Podravka's museum, opened in 1982 in a late-19th-century former slaughterhouse and devoted to the history of food and the food industry.
Industrial heritage, and above all the heritage of the food industry, is an integral part of Koprivnica's identity. Today the town is often identified with Podravka, whose size and importance for Koprivnica's modern development are truly exceptional. Podravka is one of the few companies to have opened its own museum, back in 1982, and the museum remains a valuable and interesting attraction for every visitor to Podravina.
The museum is housed in an authentic industrial site, a former slaughterhouse from the late 19th century, and its collection holds a true ethnographic wealth of objects and tools connected with the production, transport, processing, storage and consumption of food in the first half of the 20th century, including an enviable collection of authentic traditional recipes.
You will also find a fascinating collection of Podravka packaging and labels, many of them for products no longer on the market but still alive in collective memory. A visit also lets you see a reconstruction of the first soup production line, which marked a turning point in the history not only of the factory but of the Croatian food industry.
