Source of the Cetina – Eye of Dalmatia

Behind the popular name “Eye of Dalmatia” (Oko Dalmacije) lies one of the most spectacular natural attractions in Croatia – the source of the Cetina. The river rises from several springs near Vrlika, and this one, also known as Veliko vrilo, really does look from the air like the great eye of some even greater mythical creature.

The spring lies amid enchanting scenery in a protected area. Although social media is full of photos of tourists swimming here, it is a protected drinking-water area, so please enjoy this extraordinary place while respecting the rules.
