Imotski
The picturesque town of Imotski is one of the centres of the Dalmatian hinterland. Dalmatian hinterland is a beautiful, spacious, and well-preserved area rich in natural, cultural, and historical landmarks, as well as a wealth of gastronomy that will captivate you at first sight.
The contrasting landscape, where green karst fields complement limestone cliffs, is a perfect blend of Mediterranean and inland influences. The seasons here are more pronounced than on the coast, and you can literally taste the combination of fertile soil, sun, and wind in the prosciutto, wine, or cheeses that this region prides itself on.
Imotski is a picturesque town with a rich history, surrounded by green surroundings that seem to be made for enjoying an active vacation, close to the sea, yet away from the crowds. A special attraction of Imotski are its three "coloured" lakes. Two of them, Blue Lake and Red Lake, are located within the town itself and are unique natural attractions, while Green Lake is about ten kilometres away, best reached by bike.
