Ivan Rabuzin House

The home of naïve painter Ivan Rabuzin in Ključ, designed by architect Vjenceslav Richter, with a gallery of his work.

Ivan Rabuzin is a renowned Croatian naïve painter who found inspiration in the green hills and countryside around Novi Marof. He was born in the village of Ključ near Novi Marof, where his house still stands – an architecturally outstanding building designed by the celebrated Croatian architect Vjenceslav Richter.

The house has a gallery showing some of Rabuzin's best-known works, from oils on canvas and watercolours to prints. Alongside the paintings is porcelain that Rabuzin decorated for the famous Rosenthal factory – the same one Salvador Dalí worked for.

Ivan Rabuzin is the artistic symbol of Novi Marof, and the Rabuzin Days are held every year in his honour. His house is a must on any visit to the area.
